EVENT OVERVIEW:
|
|
The Arab-African Investment, Banking and Business Summit was a huge success. The Summit
commenced with a banquet hosted by the South African Embassy in Dubai. His Excellency Dikgang Moopeloa, the South African
Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, welcomed the guests, who came from
a range of countries including Nigeria, Cameroon, Burundi, Mozambique, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya,
Tanzania, Sudan, Namibia, South Africa, Kuwait, Guinea, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the USA,
Canada, Qatar and of course, the United Arab Emirates.
The Guest of Honour, His Excellency Salah Salem Bin Omair Al Shamsi, Chairman of the United Arab Emirates
Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Chairman of the Board of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of
Commerce and Industry, spoke to the assembled guests in the Godolphin Ballroom, in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers,
which proved itself to be the perfect venue for such a special event.
The evening was concluded by Dr Denis Worrall, Chairman of Omega
Investment Research, and former South African Ambassador to Great Britain and Australia.
The next two days of the Summit went off smoothly. Inbetween the excellent presentations of participants,
important contacts between people and companies were established, both within Africa and the Arab states.
Locally, we confirmed Omega as a serious player, with the magnificent support of our media partner in Africa,
Business Day.
