Investment Research, with the support from the South African
Embassy in Greece, organised the above seminar and business
mission. We did this in close association with our
representative in Greece, Mr. Dimitri Voulgaris, who knows South Africa
extremely well.
Members
of the mission left on Sunday 17 April
on Olympic Airlines at 19h40 from Johannesburg International Airport
arriving in Athens International Airport on Monday 18 April at 05h45. Monday
was taken up
with one-on-one appointments with Greek companies organised by
the Embassy and the Athens Chamber of Commerce. The
Ambassador hosted a pre-conference reception on the Monday
evening for the South Africans and leading Greek business
people. This was a marvelous opportunity for
networking. Tuesday was a conference culminating in
a South African wine reception and networking opportunity.
Wednesday saw the continuation of one-on-one
appointments. Thursday presented the option of private
meetings, or day at mission members own leisure. Departure of
the business mission was on Friday 22 April.
