Omega International Business Conferences in association with EC Gateway (Singapore) were pleased to hold our first annual Southeast Asian Investment Mining conference which focused on opportunities for investment in the South African and Australian  mining sectors.

The timing of the conference could not have been more relevant as interest in gold and investment in gold shares has seen a stark resurgence after the recent 11 September events in the United States.

It generally takes some time for positive results from a conference of this kind to flow back to the active participants. However, the feed back we have so far received from the conference has been extremely positive already. And Omega would like to thank all the participants for their contributions to making it the success it appears to have been.

The decision to hold  a mining and metals investment conference in Singapore was widely questioned when first mooted. But in the event, Omega's decision has been completely vindicated. "Why has this not happened before?", is a reaction which we as organizers received from both the Singaporean institutions and programme participants. 

Omega is therefore going ahead with our plans to establish the Southeast Asia Mining and Metals Forum as a permanent institution, so bringing together all sectors of the mining industry from all over the world and institutional and private investors in the region. The Forum will be a joint venture between Omega International Business Conferencing and our Singapore partner, EC Gateway, who also has an active representation in Asian centres like Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
